A couple of weeks ago I was invited to celebrate the Grand Opening of Maria & Enzo’s, the latest culinary addition to Disney Springs. For those of you who may not already know, Disney Springs is legitimately one of my favorite places to go. Great photo ops, incredible shopping, fun experiences for the kids and fine dining all reside at Disney Springs, so what’s not to love?
Maria & Enzo’s doesn’t just have amazing cuisine, they also offer a great storyline for their guests to take part in. Enzo purchase an airline terminal in the 1930’s and opened a great italian restaurant for his wife Maria to showcase her delicious southern Italian recipes. The menu is full of authentic dishes & the pasta is always made from scratch here. Several of the cast members are from various regions of Italy so finding someone to help you navigate the extremely authentic Italian menu is not a difficult task. Our friendly helper Luca got us all excited to try Negroni- a traditional Italian drink to sip on- but it’s very strong and very much tastes like black licorice, so it’s good if you’re into that kind of thing.
Walk in and down a grand staircase to see the details of the airline terminal hinted everywhere throughout the restaurant. From the seating arrangements in “Terminal C” or “Gate 2”, to the cast members all dressed as pilots and flight attendants, they nailed every little detail, just like Walt Disney himself would have. When guests are seated for their reservation, some will randomly be upgraded to the First Class Lounge, where adults 21+ will be treated to a complimentary glass of Prosecco and children will all earn their flight wings!
Hands Down one of the best features of Maria & Enzo’s is Enzo’s Hideaway. Remember your meal experience is taking place in 1930’s right after prohibition era, so Enzo found these amazing tunnels after purchasing the airline that lead to a prohibition style bar which he made his hideaway. You walk down underground through speakeasy tunnels to find a fully stocked bar and wine cellar. Here the decor is rich and warm, lots of luxe furnishings and comfortable chairs, ornately decorating flooring, as well as a beautiful bar with plenty of new and vintage cocktails to choose from.
This was such a lovely experience and I’m so thankful to Disney Springs for having me be a part of it. Next time you take a trip to Springs, be sure to make a reservation here. It’s truly an unforgettable experience. Open 11:30 am – 10 pm Sunday – Thursday and until 11pm Fri & Sat.
